Project Report
Summary of the HEQEP activities
1. All committees (Self-assessment, Inter-department Expert Committee etc.) have been formed. They are functioning.
2. Honours syllabus has been updated with the help of 10 Experts from other relevant disciplines. We are following it from the session 2011-2012.
3. GIS software training for both academic faculty and research students have been completed.
4. All research groups (Bioinformatics, Health and Environment) have been formed. They are functioning.
5(a) About 40 weekly seminars have been completed.
5(b) Three national workshops on subject and two training programs have been completed.
5(c) An international workshop on “Use, Abuse and Applications of Statistics” has been organized.
6. A visiting Prof. from Japan has already visited us for two weeks and delivered four lectures on survival analysis. Also, another foreign expert has visited our dept.
7. A monograph research on demography by Prof. Samad Abedin has been published.
8. World statistics day has been observed.
A multimedia documentary on Sundarban made by a group of students has been presented on this occasion.
9. An academic exhibition of the faculty members has been staged. A grand exhibition on applications of statistics in different areas of knowledge has been performed. Also, a photo exhibition of major HEQEP activities has been displayed.
10. Collaborative work with ICDDR,B has been functioning.
11. Second phase of renovation is near complete. BEER of first OTM (G1) is under review process of World Bank. G13 is committed. The OTM of Goods for furniture and fixtures has been advertised.
12. The OTMs of software and books are under process for advertisement.
